Where It Begins
After contacting us as a possible builder and you either have a lot or looking for a lot, this is where the process will start.
If you don’t have a building lot, don’t worry, we can help you with that as well! Once you find the perfect building lot for your family, we will schedule a visit to the site to determine what it will take to put your future custom home on your lot. The next step will be scheduling a meeting to sit down and customize either one of our plans or a plan that you bring to us. We will review all materials and custom needs and wants for your home. You will receive a detailed quote after your meetings that will include all details of the custom home and site cost.
It All Comes Together
After the site visit, the designing process will start. Most clients spend about 1-2 months designing their home with us. After the designing is complete, most projects take anywhere from 1-2 months for financing/permitting and preparation, and 6-9 months for construction.
We guarantee a 9 month move in date after a footer dig. An overall total of 9-12 months is common from the start to finish from designing to completion. However, adding more custom details/items as well as changes whether they be structural or selections can add time to this process.
Some Common Questions
Where we build?
Lake Norman and surrounding areas.
What plans we build?
Most clients build one of our house plans which are designed by us and can be customized to meet their personal needs. We also custom design from scratch & build other plans.
What do our homes cost?
The homes we build typically fall between $600,000 and $2 Million. Pricing that includes high end finishes that are standard.
Most custom builders use a “cost-plus” pricing system which is not how we price a home at Ridgewater Custom Homes. We believe in a fixed bottom line price, where we agree to the exact cost and detailed quote of all materials and finishes for your home before final docs go to financing. This way it helps you as the consumer and us as the contractor to provide a more streamline process from start to finish! Our contracts are detailed as to what finishes you are getting and if you choose to change the finishes, not a problem, we will do a change order and any differences in pricing is collected then. As a contractor, I always tell every client, there are two things no one can guarantee during a build and that is soils when digging footers as well as a well drill, so those are the two pricing items that will be set as allowances.
